Our semester at the Academy of Art


This academic year, we teamed with the Visual Arts Department of the Art Academy and took patronage over a semester - long contest for  the third-year students of the Interior Design Faculty.



         

THE TASK

The objective was to create modern and innovative outdoor furniture elements intended for open space usage in accordance with our product  line falling under the same category. The students worked on this challenge over the entire semester in the course of their Furniture  Design Workshop. Participants were able to present sketches,  visualizations and models originated during the semester of this  workshops at the post-competition exhibition.




THE RESULTS

We were delighted with the designs! The Students delivered ideas that  were unbelievably creative, functional, innovative and easy to adapt for  production.

It was very hard to announce a winner, but finally a jury consisting of  the representatives of Lars Laj and the Art Academy of Szczecin had  chosen “BANK! BANK!” by Mateusz Warzecha. We fell in love with his  design that incorporates functions of a bench and a bike parking in a  beautiful, modern and minimalistic form. We will be delighted to prepare  a full size prototype of the winning design and to welcome Mateusz to  the internship at our Design Department.


This collaboration is a part of our long term plan to get involved with  the local higher education institutions to give the students of design, construction and other connected fields a chance to acquire the practical  knowledge of the industry. After all, who knows the future better than  the young. When we learn from each other - everybody wins!
